Nordsee One Chooses to Continue Use of SeaPlanner™ Software to Support Commercial Operation

Nordsee One GmbH, operators of the Germany-based offshore wind farm Nordsee One, has chosen SeaPlanner for its marine management system as it begins the operational phase.

The 332MW wind farm was completed on schedule and under budget in December 2017.

Nordsee One selected the SeaPlanner marine coordination system in November 2015 when it began construction, with the use of its tools for vessel tracking, personnel tracking and the provision of a comprehensive communications survey. This was the first project to benefit from SeaPlanner’s major software upgrade which included a new mapping platform featuring enhanced guard zone alerting and analysis tools.

SeaPlanner will now also provide induction software to the project during its operational phase, as well as its brand new Permit to Work system which was launched in December 2017.

“We’ve been really happy with the SeaPlanner system during construction of the offshore wind farm – the tools have enabled us to manage operations in such an efficient and effective way that the project was completed on time and below budget which is a huge achievement for Nordsee One GmbH and the renewable energy sector as a whole. With SeaPlanner system and its client support team remaining for the wind farm’s operational phase, we’re confident we can continue to manage the safety of personnel and efficiency of the activity that will continue on the site for years ahead.”
