JGC are the first Japanese EPC Contractor to complete the course, and partnering discussions are ongoing with SeaRoc to develop the strong relationship between the companies. Four members of the JGC Engineering Team completed an intensive five-day training course at the SeaRoc office in Chichester, provided under SeaRoc’s Consultancy services.
SeaRoc in partnership with SMC provided the JGC Team with a solid understanding and knowledge base in the techniques of Marine Co-ordination along with detailed training and guidance on the market leading SeaPlanner Marine Management System.
Commenting on the training initiative, Steve Pears, Managing Director at SeaRoc, said:
“We are pleased that JGC are taking the proactive step to prepare their Engineering team to enter this new phase in the Japanese offshore wind market. We believe that it is essential that local Japanese personnel are fully trained to manage safe and effective offshore operations.”
