Dogger Bank Metmasts
SeaRoc was sub-contracted to provide the topside components for two offshore metmasts installed on suction bucket foundations at the Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farm.
The scope included design and installation of the metmast topside and lattice tower, installation and fit-out of all anemometry and ancillary equipment and commissioning, as well as project management and interface management with the foundation supplier.
The two masts were installed in water depths of 22m and 24m respectively, with the second mast being successfully commissioned in September 2013.
We then went on to successfully complete a maintenance visit to the two Forewind meteorological masts in September 2015.
The SeaRoc Group team of 9 personnel included an operations manager, rope access riggers and engineers to undertake inspections and scheduled maintenance on both Dogger Bank Met Mast West, located approximately 100 kilometres from the UK coast due east of Newcastle, and Dogger Bank Met Mast East, sited 150 kilometres from the coast. SeaRoc were responsible for all maintenance tasks including inspecting the ZephIR lidar installed by SeaRoc in May 2015 on Dogger Bank Met Mast East.
The work was successfully completed ahead of schedule on 20th September 2015.
